Living Wage is the hourly wage that is required to be earned, for a family of four with both parents working, to pay for basic living expenses and stay out of poverty.
It is estimated that 25% of families with children still earn less than the Living Wage. So this is a movement that is gathering power worldwide. More and more Public Sector Contracts require that Living Wages be paid to the participants in the contract. In the end each employer needs to make their own moral/economic decision on this subject.
