Leslie Meingast Named Ambassador for Women in Business
Founder and CEO of The Personnel Department, Leslie Meingast has been awarded the 2012 Ambassador Award by WeConnect Canada.
Alongside other women in business and corporations who support diversity programs, Meingast attended the WEConnnect International annual conference, held in Toronto from November 11-13, 2012. The WEConnect Canada Awards celebration took place on November 12th, 2012. Nominees were evaluated based on their advocacy through their networks, their activities to increase awareness of supplier diversity, their impact on and engagement in supplier diversity, and their demonstrated activity as a role model.
As an avid contributor to the women’s market and supplier diversity programs in Canada and the USA, Meingast has broken barriers for women in business. In addition to her role as CEO for The Personnel Department, Meingast plays an active role within many organizations and advisory boards including:

- SME Advisory Board, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade
- International Women’s Forum
- Vice Chair, Forum for International Trade Training
- Chair, Galt Foundation; a not for profit which expands employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities and other vocational barriers
A mentor, speaker and advocate in diversity, Leslie works tirelessly to break barriers for women in business. “Diversity is a business imperative”, Meingast explains, “I live it, breathe it, sleep it”.
