If you downloaded the Electronic Staff Planner 2013 file between November 20th and December 20th 2012, you will need to undergo a maintenance update. Please follow these instructions:
Before beginning the maintenance update process, please ensure your existing Electronic Staff Planner document has been saved and closed.
Step 1:
Click the appropriate 2013_Staff_Planner_Update link here to download your maintenance file.
If your existing Electronic Staff Planner is an “xlsm” file, use this update: Excel 2007 and Newer – 2013_Staff_Planner_UpdateIf your existing Electronic Staff Planner is an “xls” file, use this update: Excel 2003 – 2013_Staff_Planner_Update
Step 2:
Unzip the 2013_Staff_Planner_Update file into a temporary location then open it. Ensure that you have enabled Macros to run.
Step 3:
On the ENTER Employees sheet there is a new button in the upper right, labelled ‘Import Employees’
Click this button, then navigate to where your existing Electronic Staff Planner file is saved. Select it and click ‘Open’ — If you have password protected your Staff Planner you will need to enter the password at this point.
Step 4:
This will begin the import process which brings across your employee lists as well as any vacation or attendance data you may have already entered. It may take several minutes depending on the size of your company and the speed of your computer.
Note: If you have not entered ‘Date Vacation Calculations Start’ the Import process will halt and highlight which fields need adjusting in your existing Electronic Staff Planner file. Please make whatever modifications are necessary then save and close the existing Electronic Staff Planner and click the Import Employees button again.
Step 5:
Once the employee information import has completed, it will inform you of the number of employees imported as well as the number of customized entries it found and brought into the new system.
Step 6:
In order to complete the maintenance update, go to the File menu and select Save As and save the updated 2013 Electronic Staff Planner with the name of your choice in the appropriate location. If you had previously applied a password to the Staff Planner you will need to redo that process at this point.
Step 7:
The maintenance update is now complete. You may open the revised 2013 Electronic Staff Planner and use it to schedule your staff over the next year!
